How to check your traffic violation dues online

Last week when our cab was stopped by a traffic police on our way to work, we had not violated any traffic rules. However, as Hyderabad Traffic Police has been tracking traffic rule violations for a couple of years now, recently they started to ‘clear off’ their database on a very wide range. As you might have seen cops flaunting their new wireless devices, random vehicles are stopped to collect all the past dues.

Here is an online utility from the Hyderabad Traffic Police computer systems to enable you to check your violations record and monetary fine. Isn’t it always better to clear off the dues and avoid surprises or inconvenience when you are in a hurry on some day?

Click here to check the e-challan status.

The above link is IP based. So if it does not work for someone down the line, here is the landing page. You can click the top-left icon “e challan status”. I am not sure how consistent and updated this database is but you can sure run your vehicle number and verify. So far, my car and Activa show clear record. :)
